We are Friendly Soap.
Our mission is to create high-quality soap that ticks as many ethical boxes as possible without costing the earth and leaves customers feeling as conscientious as they feel clean.
Our soap contains no animal products, or derivatives, and have never been tested on animals. The ancient cold-process method means our soap is totally biodegradable and free from by-products too, so there’s literally no waste.
We don’t use harmful preservatives or foaming agents because there’s no real need for SLS or Parabens. The silky-smooth lather produced by our soap is all down to our ethically sourced, plant based ingredient choice and our cold-process method of making them.
All of our packing is made using plastic-free, recycled and recyclable materials. (Even our printing inks are veggie).
Beautifully gentle, our soap makes a rich, creamy lather you wouldn’t believe, and it won’t dry your skin because it's full of naturally-occurring glycerine. And as mentioned we only use plant-based oils like coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter, so each different soap has its own magical ability to nourish and restore your skin.
For extra variety and to make sure there’s a soap you’ll fall in love with, we use essential oils, flowers, spices and herbs. These give each soap its own special colour, scent and healing magic and, in the case of poppy seeds and hemp bran, the power to gently exfoliate.
With over 30+ years of combined experience and acquired knowledge we will be able to walk you through the whole procedure, making sure that your luxury, ethical soap bars are fully compliant with all safety standards and cosmetic regulations leaving you to concentrate on sales. Worry free.
Cold processed soap has a history going back to 2800 BC when the ancient Babylonians mixed together fats and ash to make the very first soap. The process remains relatively unchanged although we use vegetable and seed-based oils and butters rather than animal fats and the ash has been replaced by a lye solution.
There are other methods of making soap, but the one we believe creates the best quality and most eco-friendly bar of soap is the cold process method. Passed down through generations, the cold process soap making method creates gentle soaps that, cured over 4 weeks, produces a long-lasting bar with ultimate moisturisation.
